Timber storage halls - What needs to be considered when storing timber?
The timber industry requires specific storage systems. In order to maintain the quality of the popular raw material during storage, timber storage halls must fulfil a number of key requirements.
High storage volume
Well thought-out entrances and exits
Maximum utilisation of space
Good ventilation
Brightness
Dry interior climate
AGROTEL Wood Storage Halls
AGROTEL has developed special textile roofing systems for the wood processing industry. Our free-standing, stable and durable hall solutions made of steel and high quality technical textiles are perfectly suited for the construction of timber storage halls.
The right roofing for every requirement
Different construction methods and roof shapes offer the optimum protection depending on the characteristics of the stored timber. AGROTEL hall systems range from tunnel constructions to saddle roof variants and monopitch roof solutions. Depending on the dimensions, these are designed as IPE girder or lattice girder constructions.
Maximum utilisation of space
Our beam and lattice girder constructions allow free-standing spans of up to 80 m. This means that the entire storage volume can be used without restrictions and without interfering columns.
For optimal, functional use, we also equip our halls with systematically planned entrances and exits. We are specialists in textile doors, which are precisely tailored to your requirements.
Regulated ventilation and extraction
Stored goods like wood are sensitive to moisture. AGROTEL textile hall systems impress with a dry indoor climate, independent of the outside temperature. The halls are ventilated by using special textiles and dynamic ventilation solutions. This creates perfect climatic conditions for drying and storing wood.
AGROTEL WoodTex walls were developed especially for the storage of wood chips. The lateral air supply and the membrane cover ensure dry outdoor storage.
