An indoor riding arena flooded with light and air for the Muhr riding stable.
The Muhr family runs a guest house and training stable for western horses in Lower Austria. As requested, a second 20 x 40 m indoor riding arena was built on the spacious and horse-friendly grounds.
The project at a glance
In order to create more space for riding lessons, training and schooling their western horses, the Muhr family decided to build a second indoor riding arena. It was to be bright and friendly, and above all flooded with fresh air – these were the requirements of stable operator.
A 20 x 40 m indoor riding arena was planned in accordance with these requirements, combining the special needs of rider and horse in the best possible way. The choice fell on a slim profile girder construction combined with a light-coloured roof covering. This meant that no space was lost in the interior and the desired spacious, friendly atmosphere was created. This was optimised by transparent wind-protection nets along the long sides and gable-side panels that provide perfect light and air conditions. In addition, translucent roller shutter doors allow entry and exit by tractors and riding arena levelling equipment.
