An individual stable concept, combines animal welfare and economic efficiency
For the new construction of their cowshed, the Königbauer family from Lower Bavaria decided on an innovative overall concept of technical textiles. A combination of curtains, door systems, well thought-out wall coverings and cow comfort solutions create perfect conditions for the farmer and his animals.
The project at a glance
When building a new outdoor climate barn for their dairy cows, the Königbauer family relied on a well thought-out concept made of high-quality, technical textiles. This resulted in a saddle roof beam hall with some special features: The hall was statically designed with a wide canopy that protects the feeding area from the weather. Thanks to the free-standing construction with no disruptive central supports, the feeding table can be accessed by large machines. For better air circulation, the opposite side was equipped with curtains for natural ventilation and shading. If Josef Königbauer additionally opens the ventilation ridge, the air contaminated with harmful gases can escape upwards. A light-coloured roof tarpaulin and transparent mesh cladding on the gable sides allow plenty of daylight to stream in. Last but not least, the barn was equipped with several electrically operated gate systems to facilitate the daily work. The dimensions and material of the gates were individually determined in accordance with their function (entrance and exit, wind protection).
